I am a proud person.
I am not one to ask for help very often.
I do not accept it well.
Today, though, I am weak and I am broken.
My strength is no longer sufficient.
I have to admit defeat.
This morning, as I waited in silence and prayer these verses came to my head:
but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
So I will boast in my weakness. I will be content with all that comes my way.
God’s grace, his flowing grace, is all that sustains me.
Christ have mercy upon this miserable sinner.
